Last year we introduced the ability to resize Cloud Servers, which makes it really quick and easy to increase RAM/CPU and SSD storage for your cloud servers.
I’m really pleased to say that we’ve now added the ability to resize Cloud SQL instances too!
Cloud SQL is our database-as-a-service which enables you to effortlessly create high performance MySQL and PostgreSQL database servers with automated backups and security updates.
So now if you need to add more RAM, CPU and SSD storage to your Cloud SQL instance you can simply choose a larger database type and hit “Save”. The change will happen instantly, but a restart is needed for the database engine to make full use of the new resources. A restart is automatically scheduled for your next maintenance window or you can choose to manually restart at your own convenience using the new Restart action.
