Brightbox Cloud Load Balancers provide a rock-solid solution for fault tolerance and horizontal scalability. They support balancing TCP, HTTP and WebSocket connections across a pool of Cloud Servers and utilise Cloud IPs for complete flexibility. In addition, each Load Balancer is highly available using Anycast (more on this soon) - so you could say that your Load Balancers are Load Balanced :)
Today, I’m really pleased to announce two further enhancements to our Cloud Load Balancers…
Firstly, Load Balancers now natively support secure HTTP and WebSocket connections. They are compatible with SSL v3, TLS 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2 and will work out-of-the-box with browsers going back to Internet Explorer 6.
Secondly, we’ve made a number of performance increases so that each Load Balancer can now comfortably handle 10,000 concurrent connections.
The new SSL-enabled high performance Load Balancers are available to build from today. If you already have an older balancer in use, you can build a new one with the same settings and then remap your Cloud IP.
If you’ve got any questions about our Load Balancers or anything else please do get in touch - by email, webchat or IRC (#brightbox on freenode).
