You may have noticed that we’ve been a little quiet for the last couple of months. I’m really pleased to finally show you the results of our hard work - the new Brightbox Cloud Manager web interface.
When we first built Brightbox, we decided to do things right and build the API first as the channel through which everything would communicate with our backend systems. Then, being something of perfectionists (and techies!), we wanted to perfect the CLI experience before tackling a fully interactive web GUI. We’ve tried to learn a lot from users of other cloud services and their positive and negative experiences.
Here are a couple of screencasts that John has recorded on building your first cloud server using the GUI:
The Getting Started guide on our docs site takes you through these same steps too.
This screencast has a bit more detail on booting a Windows server and using firewall rules:
We’re still working on a few improvements so we’re classing it as in beta but it’s fully functional and ready to use.
P.S You might notice there’s a new “Collaborators” feature that we’ve snuck in there :) this is the groundwork for some new collaborative functionality. Stay tuned for more about this and other new features and announcements…
